Welcome to Year 4!
Year Four is part of the ‘Middle Phase’ in our school. Mrs Scott is the phase leader for Year 4, and her role is to support the staff, children and families.
In Year 4, we promote positivity, persistence and independence. We are a very hardworking year group, and we strive to ensure every child makes good progress and reaches their full potential, as well as having an enjoyable and memorable year. Friendships and teamwork continue to flourish, and children start to show real pride in being role models for younger pupils. Year 4 is all about building resilience, curiosity, and a sense of achievement as they prepare for the next exciting steps into Upper Phase. With growing confidence and independence, it is a year filled with the opportunities to shine.
We have some very exciting learning opportunities throughout the year, including our topics, ‘Chariots of Fire’, ‘Waves’ and ‘Invaders’. Children will be visited by a Roman soldier, have the opportunity to spend the day at Tamworth and will also have a fantastic opportunity to spend a 2-night residential exploring Whitby. We look forward to sharing information about these plans nearer the time.
As a team, we love celebrating every success, big or small, and we’re right there to guide and support pupils through any challenges they may encounter. Our SOAR values are woven into everything we do, helping children develop strong personal qualities and a positive mindset. By the end of the year, they’ll be well-prepared, focused, and excited for the transition into Year 5 - ready to take on new challenges with pride and resilience.
If you ever have any questions or want to chat with your child’s class teacher, please don’t hesitate to get in touch — you can contact us through the school office or send a message via Class Dojo.
